Terms of Service

Clear terms for using Endometriosis Companion.

These Terms explain how you may use Endometriosis Companion, what the app is and is not designed to do, how subscriptions work, and the responsibilities that apply when you create an account or use our services.

Effective: October 2026Health tracking appNot medical advice

1. Overview

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you access or use Endometriosis Companion, including our website, app, subscription services, tracking features, AI-supported insights, reports, content and related services, collectively referred to as the “Service”.

By creating an account, starting a free trial, purchasing a subscription, accessing the app or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

In these Terms, “Endometriosis Companion”, “we”, “us” and “our” refers to the operator of the Service, currently April Wood, operating as Endometriosis Companion in Victoria, Australia. “You” and “your” refers to the person who creates an account, uses the Service or purchases a subscription.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, use the Service or purchase a subscription. The Service is not available to anyone under 18.

You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account and to keep your login details secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must not share your account login with another person or use another person’s account without permission. If you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation, you should contact us promptly.

3. Health and medical disclaimer

Endometriosis Companion is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, treatment provider, emergency service or replacement for professional medical care.

The Service is designed to help you privately track symptoms, cycle information, pain, food, movement, energy, mood, notes and other self-reported information. It may help you organise information and notice possible patterns over time.

The Service does not diagnose endometriosis, pelvic pain, adenomyosis, PCOS, infertility, gastrointestinal conditions, mental health conditions or any other medical condition. It does not prescribe treatment, recommend medication, replace clinical assessment or provide emergency support.

The educational content in the app, including phase guides, food ideas and information about supplements and Traditional Chinese Medicine, is general information only. Discuss any supplement, significant change in diet, or change to your treatment with your doctor before you act on it.

Always seek advice from a qualified doctor, specialist, allied health practitioner or other appropriately qualified healthcare provider about symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, medication, fertility, surgery, pain, nutrition, exercise or any health decision.

If you experience severe symptoms, sudden or worsening pain, heavy bleeding, fainting, fever, chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of infection, suicidal thoughts or any emergency concern, seek urgent medical help immediately by contacting local emergency services.

4. AI insights and app content

Some plans include AI-supported summaries, pattern suggestions and insights based on information you enter into the app. When you ask for an AI insight, and have given your consent, information from your logs is sent to OpenAI to generate the response, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Text you type, such as notes, food entries and questions, is sent as you wrote it, so please avoid including names or other identifying details.

AI outputs are intended for general informational, organisational and reflective purposes only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or not relevant to your personal circumstances. They may identify correlations or possible patterns, but correlation does not mean causation. You should not rely on AI insights as medical advice or as the sole basis for health, treatment, medication, diet, fertility, surgery or lifestyle decisions.

You are responsible for reviewing any AI output carefully and deciding whether to discuss it with a qualified healthcare professional. We do not guarantee that insights will be accurate, clinically validated, comprehensive or suitable for your situation.

AI insights are subject to a monthly usage limit that depends on your plan. We may change these limits, and the current limit is shown in the app.

5. Trials, plans and billing

We offer a free trial for new users and paid plans. Pricing, trial length, what each plan includes and feature limits are shown at sign-up, on the website, at checkout or in the app before you pay. Some features, including AI insights, may be available only on certain plans.

The free trial is intended for new users only unless we expressly state otherwise. We may limit trial availability, prevent repeated trial use, require a payment method, or end trial access where we reasonably believe the trial is being misused.

Subscriptions are billed through our payment provider, currently Stripe. By starting a subscription, you authorise the payment provider to charge your selected payment method at the stated price and billing interval until cancelled.

You are responsible for ensuring your payment information is accurate and up to date. If payment fails, we may suspend or limit access to paid features until payment is resolved.

We may change subscription pricing or plan features from time to time. Where required, we will provide reasonable notice before changes affect your existing subscription.

6. Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing or account area provided in the app, through the Stripe customer portal, or by contacting us if you are unable to access your account.

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals. Unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law, cancellation does not automatically provide a refund for the current billing period, and you may continue to have access until the end of the paid period.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

7. Your data and privacy

We understand that symptom, cycle, pain, food and health-related information is sensitive. Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

You retain ownership of the information you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you give us permission to host, process, display and store your information as necessary to provide the Service to you, including generating summaries, charts, reports and insights.

We will not sell your personal health data.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. Inaccurate, incomplete or inconsistent tracking data may affect the usefulness of any summaries, reports or insights.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes not:

  • using the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading purposes;
  • attempting to access another user’s account, data or private information;
  • copying, scraping, reverse engineering, reselling or reproducing the Service without permission;
  • uploading malicious code, interfering with security, or attempting to disrupt the Service;
  • using the Service to provide medical advice to others unless you are appropriately qualified and responsible for doing so independently of the Service;
  • using automated tools to create accounts, abuse trials or bypass subscription or usage limits;
  • trying to manipulate the AI features into producing content outside their intended purpose;
  • entering information that you do not have the right to provide.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use breaches these Terms, creates risk for other users, or may harm the Service.

9. App availability and changes

We aim to provide a useful and reliable Service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free. The Service may be affected by maintenance, updates, internet issues, third-party services, hosting providers, payment providers or technical problems.

We may add, remove, update, limit or change features from time to time. We may also discontinue parts of the Service if necessary. Where changes materially affect paid access, we will aim to provide reasonable notice where practical.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, website, app design, branding, code, copy, graphics, interface, reports, templates, educational content and related materials are owned by us or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, modify, reverse engineer, create derivative works from or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our written permission.

You may download or share reports generated from your own data for personal health organisation, appointment preparation or discussion with your healthcare providers.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not make guarantees that the Service will meet your expectations, identify all relevant patterns, prevent symptoms, improve health outcomes, or be free from errors.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from:

  • your reliance on app content, AI insights or self-tracked information as medical advice;
  • health decisions made without consulting a qualified healthcare professional;
  • incorrect, incomplete or delayed information entered into the app;
  • temporary loss of access, data syncing issues, technical faults or third-party service interruptions;
  • unauthorised access caused by your failure to keep login details secure;
  • events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, guarantees, warranties or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and you can delete your account from within the app. Deletion is subject to any technical, legal, payment, security or record-keeping requirements described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, misuse free trials, create security risks, infringe our rights, or use the Service in a way that may harm us, other users or the operation of the Service.

Termination may result in loss of access to your account, paid features and stored information. Where possible and reasonable, we encourage users to export or save important information before cancelling or deleting an account.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, unless another jurisdiction’s laws are required to apply. You agree that courts located in Victoria, Australia may hear disputes relating to these Terms, subject to any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, legal requirements, payment arrangements or business operations. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the app, website or email. Continuing to use the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
